Functional Art

OUR STORY & PHILOSOPHY
Our aim is to unite enthusiasts who admire Finnish Vintage Axes. To learn the history and to conserve traditional Axe shapes.

Photography & Art
Refurbishing quality old tools with rich history to reconnect people with the past.
We are a society of enthusiasts of Finnish Vintage Axes.
In our online boutique you can buy the restored vintage Finnish axes and modern replicas.
Our society organizes courses "Finnish Vintage Axes. Restoration", Photography course "Still-life. Old woodworking tools".
During the summer, we organize exhibitions, such as “Vintage Tools” and art exhibitions, which are open upon request.
The exhibition “Finnish Vintage Axes” was held at the Local History Museum in Orimattila (Orimattilan kotiseutumuseo) in July–August 2018. More than 55 Finnish vintage axes dating from the 1700s to the 1960s were presented.
22nd of May 2021 we took participation in the event Axe Day in Mariehamn (Yxans dag at Sjökvarteret Mariehamn). We presented there the vintage Finnish axes restored by us and our own FVA axes that we made: "Karelia" and "Ancient". We also delivered a lecture titled “The History of Finnish Vintage Axes” in the Jehu house.
You are warmly welcome to explore and be inspired by functional art of Finnish Vintage Axes.
We are happy to give you an advice and help you in your own Axe Restoration projects.
Everyone is welcome to join us—we are open to communication and collaboration.
